Group Guitar Lessons

Everyone has a different learning style, especially when it comes to playing the guitar. Playing an instrument is a great way to train the creative side of your brain. Also, for children it teaches discipline and offers a competitive edge when they apply for college. You never know, they may make a career out of playing the guitar!

However, choosing the right teaching style for yourself or your child can be a bit tricky. You can choose between a group or private lessons. There are pros and cons to both options. Today, we are going to share with you the pros of group guitar lessons so you can make an informed choice if this is the right learning style.

Interactions with Others

When you learn in a group, it teaches you how to communicate and interact with others. You also understand how to collaborate musically with others, which is not an easy thing to do.

Also, humans naturally desire social interactions with others. You can fulfill those social desires in group lessons. What’s even better is you get to socialize with people that have the same interest as you. Everyone in the group wants to learn how to play guitar just as much as you do!

Peer to Peer Learning

Attendees in the group guitar lessons are there to learn guitar with you! This peer to peer learning keeps it fun and exciting. You build a sense of comradery that is very special. If you do not understand something, you are more than welcome to ask your peers in class and outside of class. They will not judge you. Everyone is there to help each other develop and learn.

Overcome Social Fears

Do you have social fears? Are you afraid to speak to strangers? Group guitar lessons are an excellent way to overcome these fears. A setting like this pushes you out of your comfort zone and forces you to speak to strangers. You may feel uncomfortable in the beginning, but as you continue to interact with individuals in the class, the uncomfortable will become comfortable. Also, you get to learn to play one of the coolest instruments in the world as you are overcoming this social anxiety.

After you learn a few songs, you can even play the guitar at parties or outside social gatherings! It is an excellent way to build self-confidence and become comfortable with showing off your talents!

Lower Cost

For those who are on a tight budget, Lone Star School of Music has great group guitar lessons for all ages. You can pay a reasonable price for an instructor if you get group instead of private lessons, plus it is more fun!

Please keep in mind, private lessons give you more privacy as you learn. You also get more one-on-one time. However, at our school we keep the classes small so you will always get a quality learning experience.
