Fiza began her musical journey 21 years ago with classical piano at the age of six. After moving to India, Fiza began to study sitar with a disciple of sitar player Ravi Shankar, and later went on to finish her Bachelors and Master’s degrees in music at the California Institute of the Arts, founded by Walt Disney. While at Calarts, Fiza studied musical performance with focus on piano, vocal, & world music and dance including North Indian music, Balinese and Javanese gamelan, and African music from Ghana.

A composer, performer, and producer, Fiza performs and records in various styles of music including gospel, world, folk, country, classical, jazz, pop, and blues. She has performed in various cities across the country and abroad. Because of her versatility, she is able to work in a plethora of musical settings, and can use her fundamental knowledge of musical theory to teach most styles of music to students no matter where their interest lies.
