“I aim to turn learning an instrument into an enjoyable and stimulating part of my student’s day and never a chore.”
Emily is a cellist, violist, and violinist in Central Texas who has taught at the Lone Star Schools of Music since 2017. She received two Bachelor’s degrees in Music and English from the University of Wisconsin- Stevens Point and is currently working toward her Master’s degree in Music Performance and Pedagogy, specializing in the Cello, at Texas State University in San Marcos. She loves helping both beginners and seasoned players. Emily is perfect to teach your student the Suzuki methods and is one of the few string instrument instructors offering in person lessons in the area!
Emily believes that developing good habits will make for the strongest of players and lead to the quickest leaps in learning a stringed instrument. She knows how to be patient with frustrated learners while also encouraging them to push past their own boundaries. She believes that fostering confidence and determination through learning an instrument will extend into other areas of one’s life.
Emily teaches both online and in person lessons at the Lone Star Southwest and Lakeway studios. She has very limited availability left on Tuesdays and Thursdays at the Lakeway locations!
