My piano studies began with my mom at the age of four. These transitioned to formal lessons at age six. I studied piano performance under Dr. Jason Kwak at Texas State University and received my Bachelor of Music degree in 2016. In 2019, I graduated with a Master’s of Music degree in Piano Performance from Louisiana State University under Michael Gurt.
I have performed many solo recitals locally and abroad, including the Musicartissimo Music Festival in Plovdiv, Bulgaria (2015) and the Friday Concerts at Schmitt’s series in Overland Park, Kansas.
I’ve worked as a collaborator for vocalists and instrumentalists. I’ve been a piano instructor for all student levels since 2011. I served as the piano teacher at the Centro Cultural Hispano de San Marcos for 6 years with a studio of 30+ students of all ages and skill levels. I believe in the words of pianist Vladimir Horowitz (1903-1989): “the difference between ordinary and extraordinary is practice.”
Little fun fact about me. I’m actively involved in martial arts and hold a black belt in Kajunkenbo karate. I enjoy long distance running and am currently training for my first marathon taking place in December 2019.
