Emily Thiele

Emily hails from northern Wisconsin, where she recently completed degrees in music and English at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. She has a strong foundation in violin and viola, and she played cello professionally with the Central Wisconsin Symphony Orchestra throughout college. Now graduated, she hopes to spread her love of strings to the city of Austin where she is playing with the Austin Chamber Academy and taking lessons through local professors before auditioning to graduate schools.

Emily believes that developing good habits will make for the strongest of players and lead to the quickest leaps in learning a stringed instrument. She knows how to be patient with frustrated learners while also encouraging them to push past their own boundaries. She believes that fostering confidence and determination through learning an instrument will extend into other areas of one’s life. Emily aims to turn learning an instrument into an enjoyable and stimulating part of her student’s day and never a chore.
